Colombian Connection

Published by Audrey Marshall | Filed under Uncategorized

Greetings from Bogota. I was invited by a former student of the MAIS course to give a presentation on “Managing networked public libraries” here in Bogota. It was wildly successful. We had 150 people attending and another 25 people who had to be turned away! They were an attentive audience, from a range of libraries in Colombia, including public libraries, the National Library, a school library, UNICEF and a research institute. We all coped with the simultaneous translation very well and the translator did a superb job. The course brochures went like hot cakes, so we can expect some Colombian students in the future.

Now I am about to be interviewed by a journalist, then whisked off to the National Library and then to the airport for a well earned holiday in Ecuador and the Galapagos.

Photos (of this bit) to follow!
