Management consulting firm Bain & Company has announced a new services alliance with leading AI developer OpenAI. The collaboration aims to help Bain’s enterprise clients realize the potential of AI systems like ChatGPT to transform operations.
Bain has already embedded OpenAI’s natural language processing into internal processes over the past year, stating this improved efficiency across its 18,000-person workforce. Now the consultancy is making these capabilities accessible to global customers through joint projects melding AI tools with Bain’s strategic expertise.
The initial client taking advantage is beverage giant The Coca-Cola Company. Use cases in development span next-gen contact centers leveraging automated dialogues, ad copy and creative generation through ChatGPT and DALL-E, and analysis to improve financial advisor productivity.
Bain’s worldwide managing partner Manny Maceda said AI marks an “industrial revolution for knowledge work”, requiring all clients to reimagine architectures. By collaborating, Bain gains unmatched access to OpenAI’s foundation models to build tailored solutions that drive business value.
OpenAI head of go-to-market Zack Kass likewise cited Bain’s implementation strengths combined with its AI as enabling major transformation across the Fortune 5000. The partners are also working with Bain’s software clients to enrich offerings with the new capabilities.
The announcement underscores the appetite for ChatGPT and generative AI among leading enterprises. Bain’s advanced analytics unit, which houses over 500 data scientists and engineers, will spearhead the technical integration and delivery.
