Legal technology company Lexsoft Systems has announced the launch of T3 GenAI, a new knowledge management solution for law firms powered by artificial intelligence. The tool aims to streamline the process of submitting, organizing, and searching legal knowledge documents.
T3 GenAI is part of Lexsoft’s T3 product suite and leverages Microsoft’s OpenAI technology to deliver advanced AI capabilities. The solution applies conditional forms, information extraction, document summarization, and metadata classification to automate repetitive manual tasks traditionally performed by knowledge management professionals and professional support lawyers (PSLs).
For legal staff submitting documents, T3 GenAI uses conditional forms to prompt for key details specific to the document type. When a contract is uploaded, it might ask for party names, dates, and quantities. The AI then automatically scans the text to extract important information to populate the form, removing the need to chase down details.
On the back end, T3 GenAI summarizes documents, classifies them using the firm’s unique taxonomy, and adds appropriate metadata. This eliminates the manual effort previously required of PSLs to read submissions and determine how to categorize them within the knowledge management system. The tool also automatically redacts confidential data.
The system provides PSLs with a single dashboard to view and manage knowledge management tasks instead of relying on inefficient emails. Users can see outstanding activities, prioritize work, and monitor status across the department.
T3 GenAI is delivered as a software-as-a-service solution running on iManage Work, iManage’s document management platform, and hosted on Microsoft Azure. It integrates smoothly with iManage’s SaaS offerings and Insight+ tool.
According to Lexsoft CEO Carlos GarcÃa-Egocheaga, “OpenAI has enabled the delivery of this [AI] capability from a technical standpoint. The value of the technology, however, lies in its application. T3 GenAI is underpinned by almost 20 years of KM experience in the legal sector.” He emphasizes tailored functionality for legal knowledge management needs.
With T3 GenAI, Lexsoft aims to transform how law firms handle the critical task of organizing and harnessing institutional knowledge. By removing manual bottlenecks, the legal knowledge management process can become faster, more consistent, and less burdensome for time-constrained legal professionals.
